Nerf Wars -Featuring at festivals this summer their Nerf battle Sessions are sure to be a hit! With obstacles, plenty of guns and LOADS of darts, it is a battle you want to be a part of!
Combat Archery – Combine dodgeball and archery and what do you get? Combat Archery! The newest, coolest thing since paintball – try your hand at being Legolas and eliminate the opposing team.  Inflatable barriers, masks, arrows and bows – what more is there to love than teaming up with 4 friends to fire arrows at real people!!
Zorb Football – Giant inflatable body suits that mean you can run at 100mph into each other while trying to play football – what isn’t there to love?!  Get together with some friends and see if you have what it takes to last the full game on your feet, and try and score a few goals in the process!
If you can’t get along to any of the events they’re at this summer then bring ACtivity Delivered to you! You don’t need to have a birthday to book in one of their parties any excuse will do! As well as the above activities, they also have Tipi Cinemas, Hoverboards, Hot Tubs and Mini Tipis so whatever the age, they have something for everyone!

Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum

Head to the museum this summer and join in with their Carnegie Creators summer programme and take part in hands-on family activities every Wednesday in July! To commemorate Andrew Carnegie’s centenary year, these activities are inspired by his gifts to Dunfermline and the rest of the world.

Drop in events held between 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM every Wednesday in July. Suitable for ages 3+

Museum open daily 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Entry FREE OF CHARGE!


Anstruther Fish Bar

Summer is made for chippies at the seaside, and Fife is lucky to have some of the best in Scotland! Recommended by Fife for Kids, the multi-award-winning Anstruther Fish Bar has just gone and won another award – PLASTIC FREE CHAMPION!

The fish bar, situated right on the harbour front, is the perfect location for a Summer holiday treat and now can you can sit out (or in), watch the local boats land their day’s catch of lobster, crab and mackerel AND enjoy your fish supper knowing that it isn’t damaging the sea. #winning!

Buttons and Blethers

Buttons and Blethers is an award-winning creative haven located in the Elgin Industrial Estate, Dunfermline. With a whole host of workshops and classes for all ages this summer, there’s something for every mini maker!

They have 2 different, 2hour, workshops for kids every weekday during the Summer holidays! With themes such as fairies, pirates, Star Wars, Frozen, Harry Potter, mermaids, sharks & dinosaurs (to name but a few),  there’s a craft activity to suit everyone!

Get your child/children booked now and help to nurture the next generation of crafters. Places are filling up fast so early booking is advised.  Activities are £10 per child but a discount is available if you’re bringing more than one child per adult.  Free tea/coffee too should you decide to stay, but you are welcome to drop your child off and collect them afterwards.

Buttons and Blethers also have a large range of fabrics, patterns, yarns, haberdashery, ribbons and other arts and crafts for all your summer project needs.

Ceramic Cafe

The Ceramic Café is a great place to spend some quality time with the family having fun painting something from our extensive range of ceramics suitable for both children and adults.

Head down to create precious memories with imprints into clay or painted prints onto mugs, plates, vases and clocks. Expert staff will be pleased to give you artistic advice or help with prints and any message that you would like to appear on your item too.

PLUS they have a great wee soft play to keep the younger children amused and a Cafe offering delicious home baking, fresh coffee as well as sandwiches and toasties.

Crafty Pots Cafe

A great place for all the family – whatever your age – to enjoy the fun of painting your own ceramic item to take home and enjoy (after it’s been fired in the kiln!). From family handprints to clay imprints and a whole range of summer activities (check out the week by week section of the guide!) there’s something for everyone – even the dog!

Whilst there you can also enjoy the café which offers hot and cold drinks, cakes, snacks, sandwiches and toasties for all to enjoy.

Craigtoun Country Park

With free entry, free parking and on-site café, Craigtoun really is the ideal place for a family day out.  Situated in 47 acres of well-maintained grounds, just 2 miles from St Andrews, the park is open all year round and visitors can enjoy free facilities such as the adventure playground, trampolines, Fairy Glen, trim trail and a 30ft zip wire.

Their Seasonal Paid Attractions operate all summer and these include the Rio Grande Miniature Railway and Puffin’ Billy tractor rides, boating, putting, crazy golf, bouncy castles and pedal cars!

Devine Cakes Tearoom

Recommended by Fife for Kids, Devine Cakes & Tearoom (situated at the former Peppermill Bothy in Blairhall) serves delicious homemade food and cakes all baked and created fresh on the premises. The tearoom and coffee shop has a wonderful children’s play corner and outdoor courtyard with seating for the warmer days where dogs are welcome.

East Neuk Outdoors

If you love adventure, then you’ll love East Neuk Outdoors! We’ve been, we’ve tried it and we thoroughly recommend it! A family-run outdoor activity centre on Fife’s scenic east coast in Cellardyke by Anstruther, they offer a range of outdoor activities for individuals, families and groups including ‘come and try’ sessions, half-day, full day or multi-day options.

Qualified and caring staff will ensure your time with them is spent learning new skills in an enjoyable and safe environment. Check out the wide range of exciting activities they offer over on their listing! Your space mission – should you choose to accept it – is to have an out-of-this-world Summer Holiday! Celebrate 50 years since human beings first set foot on the Moon by joining Space Chase, Summer Reading Challenge 2019.

Read 6 books, collect stickers and complete your mission folder to help save the day! To help you on your way, On at Fife Libraries have lots of space-tastic events happening in libraries near you!

They’ll be going on an intergalactic journey with Cosmos Planetarium; discovering old and new life-forms with Cool Creatures; and will be learning all about animal first aid with PDSA.

Remember to also look out for lots of Cosmic Capers and Alien Invasions at their summer holiday story and craft events!

They will continue to serve drop in customers as normal during this time however an appointment can save a sometimes lengthy wait at a busy time of year.
